Dry Goat Curry with Potatoes




Dry goat curry with potatoes.
Fry onions, curry leaves and spices in a kwali with 1/4 cup oil.
Add in marinadeted goat meat and fry till fragrant.

Ingredients
750 gms goat meat [or any meat, beef, chicken]
Marinade with, 2 tablsp. corriander powder.
3-4 tablsp chilly powder
1 teasp. paparika powder
2 teasp. fennel powder
1 teasp. cummin powder
1/2 teasp. tumiric powder[kuyit powder]
salt to taste.

3 med. size potatoes [cut and boil for 5 mins]
2 med. tomatoes


Spices to pound
5-6 slices ginger
1/2 teasp black pepper
6 pips garlic, pound and fry in 1/4 cup oil, add in, 1 sliced big onion
2 star anise, 1teasp. mustard seed.

1 teasp alba seeds and 3 stalk of curry leaves, add in meat and tomatoes, mix well.
Add water to cover meat, cook slow simmer till meat is tender.

For goat or gravy beef cook for 1 -2 hrs.

The first part is best stir fry in a kwali and then transfered into a pot to simmer.
Add potatoes during the last 10 minutes of cooking.

Serve with steam rice and a plain cucumber salad.


Cucumber salad
Slice up 1 cucumber, 1 red chilly and 1 big onion, sprinkle with salt and abit of sugar.
Add coconut cream or plain yoghurt and a squeeze of lemon.
